Actress Marsai Martin informed her 4.3 million Instagram followers over the weekend that she had a successful surgery to remove her "large ovarian cyst" that caused her "constant pain" for more than four years.

"If you missed my live, long story short, I had surgery for my large ovarian cyst that gave me constant pain for 4+ years," Martin wrote on her Instagram Story on Sunday alongside a black and white video filmed inside the hospital.

She added, "I really don't remember any of this sh-t because of the anesthesia, lol. But I will say that I am very grateful to have family and educators by my side in support of this process."

The 18-year-old actress went on to share that the reason behind sharing this is to "spread awareness" and share her experience with young ladies who might be dealing with "difficult menstrual cycles."

"You are never alone. Listen to your body. It always shows you signs. Health is wealth," she concluded. The Instagram Story was later shared by a Twitter user Sunday:

Martin shared another Instagram Story on Sunday, featuring a photo of herself getting makeup done. She wrote alongside the photo that the surgery took place 10 days ago and she is doing fine.

"Thank y'all for all the love," she wrote, ET reported. "The procedure was 10 days ago and I'm now feeling fine. I also appreciate the stories from folks that have been through the same thing! But I'm back and I'm betta."

On the work front, Martin was last seen in the comedy-action movie, "Fantasy Football," which was released on Nov. 25. She also appeared in the TV series, "Waffles + Mochi's Restaurant" earlier this year.

Considering her upcoming projects, she will play Rory Vaughn's character in a podcast series, "Free to Fall," which is currently under post-production.

She also lent her voice in an animated movie, "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie," which is expected to release next in October. The flick is helmed by director Cal Brunker. Aside from Martin, Dax Shepard, Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry and Kim Kardashian are also part of the project.
