Meghan Markle may have fantasized about marrying Prince Harry even before they got engaged.

In the documentary “Prince Harry – An Engaging Life,” People magazine deputy director Dan Wakeford said that there is always an element of fantasy when Americans see the royals. This is primarily because there is no such thing as a royal family in the United States so Americans project their fantasies onto the handsome princes and princesses.

Wakeford’s claim appears to be true since Markle previously wrote about her desire to become a princess when she was younger. She even mentioned Kate Middleton in her former lifestyle blog The Tig in 2014.

“Little girls dream of being a princess. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” she wrote.

She-Ra is an American cartoon television heroine from the 1980s. There are ongoing rumors claiming that a modernized reboot is in the works.

In her post, Markle also talked about the special moment she experienced when she interviewed Princess Alia Al-Senussi, an exiled Libyan royal and humanitarian.

“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the Royal wedding and endless conversations about Princess Kate,” Markle wrote.

Two years after writing her post, Markle was introduced to Prince Harry by their common friend. They started dating a month or two later. In November 2017, Prince Harry and Markle announced their engagement to the entire world. The royal couple tied the knot on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding, Kensington Palace announced that they are expecting their first child together. Markle is scheduled to give birth in the Spring of 2019, which typically starts mid-March and ends on the fourth week of June.

As of late, the gender of Markle and Prince Harry’s baby hasn’t been revealed. This is normally done after the Duchess of Sussex gives birth. It is also unclear if the “Suits” alum will follow in the footsteps of Princess Diana and give birth at a hospital.
