Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are both style icons. Whenever they are out in public, the sisters-in-law always look their best.

But according to a fashion PR expert, the Duchess of Sussex has an obvious advantage over the Duchess of Cambridge. While speaking with Express, Dominique St. John said that the fact that Prince Harry’s wife doesn’t have a personal stylist is an advantage.

“It is said that Meghan does not have a stylist, which could be seen as an advantage as she handpicks her clothes herself. Meghan tends to sport designers with a message behind them. Since she is passionate about the environment, we will probably see Meghan wearing sustainable clothing brands such as Stella McCartney, Everlane or Veja. For example, on her trip to Australia, she wore ballerinas made out of plastic bottles, which conveys a strong message about recycling,” she said.

The fashion PR expert also said that Markle seemingly puts a lot of research on the clothes that she wants to wear. It is very common for the new mom to come across unique designers, who haven’t been discovered before and she helps them make a name for themselves.

St. John is predicting the possibility of Markle wearing lesser-known designers when she heads to South Africa with Prince Harry and Archie for their first royal engagement as a family.

Meanwhile, fashion stylist Melita Latham also talked about Middleton’s fashion and said that the mom of three’s style is still a royal transformation in progress even though she’s already been part of the royal family for eight years.

“Her conservative style is more apparent now than ever before. She also pays her respects in the form of her clothing choices that allow us to remember Princess Diana which is a very honorable thing to do by Kate,” she said.

Prince William’s wife has also been dubbed as “Thrifty Kate” because she oftentimes rewears her clothes in public.
