Ahead of the royal baby’s due date, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have moved out of their cottage at Kensington Palace to Frogmore House in Windsor. Although the move fueled further speculation about the couple’s rumored feud with Prince William and Kate Middleton, it seems their relocation may have been necessary.

In the 2018 documentary, “Harry & Meghan: A Very Modern Romance,” royal biographer Andrew Morton claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would struggle to deal with the restrictions that come along with living in Kensington Palace.

“Kensington Palace, yes, it’s a village, but it can also seem like a prison,” Morton stated in the documentary.

Morton implied Meghan would have a harder time adjusting to living on the palace grounds. “She [Meghan] is going to find it difficult getting out and about. The difficulty for her is that she’s had a successful career. She’s been able to get on a plane to Cuba or go snorkeling in the Caribbean, but when she met Harry she gave up an awful lot.”

According to Patrick Jephson, Meghan and Prince Harry may not be the only royal family members that want to move away from Kensington Palace. The royal author suggested younger generations may begin to feel confined to the residence, rather than considering it a welcoming home.

“When that childhood innocence gives way to the harsher realities of royal life, the young prince or princess might well wonder if the protective walls of KP don't more closely resemble the walls of a prison yard,” he previously wrote in the Express UK.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Frogmore House residence is located miles away from Kensington Palace, where the couple will have the opportunity to raise their baby in a comfortable space.
