Meghan Markle will receive another honor similar to the ones Kate Middleton and Princess Diana had before.

According to Georgina Laud, a journalist from Express, the Duchess of Sussex joined the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess of Wales in having a flower named after them.

A flower named Clematis Meghan will be launched at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) 2019 Chelsea Flower Show by specialist Thorncroft Clematis.

The new breed by New Leaf Plants named after Markle was described as “lovely new clematis…named after the newest addition to the royal family Meghan Markle after her marriage to Prince Harry on 19th May 2018.”

The plant has dark purply-red summer flowers and blooms in abundance between May and June and again in late July until September.

Aside from Prince Harry’s wife, a number of other royals have Clematis flowers named after them. The list includes Prince Charles, Prince Philip, Prince George, Prince William and Princess Diana.

Meanwhile, Middleton will be featured in the same event. The Duchess of Cambridge will be displaying her own garden at the show.

Middleton’s garden, called "Back to nature," is inspired by her childhood memories and it shows how access to green space and gardening can promote physical and emotional well-being.

Unfortunately, the royal mom of three was recently accused of cultural misappropriation due to the design of her garden. The duchess included a teepee in her layout that sparked a culturally sensitive debate.

Native Americans regard cone-shaped tents as sacred objects, so some deemed Middleton’s move of including an ancient living space as a prop for her garden inappropriate.

However, sociology professor Frank Furedi doesn’t think that Middleton is really guilty of “cultural misappropriation.” According to him, Middleton’s design doesn’t evoke the traditional vision of an English garden. He added that it’s harmless enough.

In related news, aside from being featured in the upcoming Chelsea Flower Show, Markle was reportedly offered to grace the cover of Vogue. Princess Diana and Middleton were featured in the same magazine years ago.

The People’s Princess was on the cover four times in 1981, 1991, 1994 and 1997. On the other hand, Middleton had the honor to grace Vogue’s cover for its centenary issue in 2016.
