Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, mentioned Princess Diana during a recent interview, but one expert believes that this was unnecessary and would only infuriate the royals.

Thomas recently sat down for yet another interview, this time with Daily Mail. In one of his statements, he mentioned that "Princess Diana would have loathed" the way the royals have Markle treat her dad. However, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, Thomas' statements will only make matters between him and the royal family worse.

"Thomas Markle should have known that such a contentious and highly personal interview would be anathema to the Royal Family," the expert told Express. "His comments about what Princess Diana would have thought will be particularly contentious."

"The Royal Family have changed a good deal since the tragic death of Diana 21 years ago," Fitzwilliams continued. "It is clear that Mr Markle's remarks will not endear him to Princess Diana's sons, Prince Harry and Prince William. If Diana were still with us, I think she would wish that Harry and Meghan are happy together which they undoubtedly are."

Just like Markle's half-sister, Samantha Markle, Thomas has been making a lot of noise in the media. He appeared on "Good Morning Britain" and had several other interviews. Some did not like his confessions during his interviews, believing that he and the other members of the Markle family are just cashing in on Markle's popularity.

Samantha admitted this when she was asked about her appearance on CBS' "Celebrity Big Brother." "Why not? Life is about cashing in, you… take opportunities as they arise and hopefully you enjoy the ride," she said. "And you can make it as positive as you can, there's nothing wrong with it. The purpose of that show would not be to discuss [Meghan]."

However, some networks which reportedly planned to ban them on their reality shows. "The Markles have not been shy about talking about their famous family member," a source told Mirror. "The BBC do not want to host someone on Strictly who would be so anti the Royal Family. And ITV's top brass feel they would not give a voice to these people."

In related news, Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly frustrated with Thomas' paid interviews. But on Thomas' end, he said that he only wanted them to speak to him because he fears that he would die without talking to her royal daughter ever again.
