• Archie could grow up wondering why his parents quit the royal family
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should explain Megxit to Archie
  • Archie might want to become a royal when he grows up

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell exit could eventually have an effect on their son, Archie.

While speaking with Express, editor Martina Mercer said that when Archie grows up, it is possible for him to question his parents’ decision. But the way that Archie would handle the situation will depend on how he’s raised by his parents.

“How he handles it in his teenage years depends on Harry’s and Meghan’s parenting style and if they’re consistent with the truth while ensuring he has all the facts and understands their decision to leave the royal family,” she said.

The editor also warned Prince Harry and Markle against concealing the truth from their son. Doing so may result in Archie rebelling.

“Any subterfuge could result in a rebellion, alongside a desire to adopt the royal lifestyle in the UK. Just as children of single-parent families have dreams about their estranged parent, Archie will naturally have a curiosity that will build if his relationship with Harry and Meghan isn’t open and honest,” she said.

The editor also said that the royal couple’s desire to shelter Archie from the media and his royal life could eventually backfire. After all, some children end up becoming actors even after their parents shielded them from this kind of life.

In the coming years, Archie might express his desire to become a working royal. However, this is something that he could no longer do because his parents are no longer considered as such.

“A lot also depends on Harry and Meghan’s plans for work and business, as I strongly suspect that Meghan will remain in the media spotlight, however, this time it will be on her own terms. If Archie views life as a royal as better than the life he grows up with, he may set out to embrace his heritage when he comes of age,” she said.

Meanwhile, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, previously said that she hopes Archie would grow up wanting to know their side of the family. Markle has been estranged from her dad and siblings for years.
