  • Host Chuck Woolery claims Melania Trump was snubbed from Showtime's "First Ladies"
  • "First Ladies" Season 1 will feature Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford
  • Twitter users showed their support for the current first lady after the alleged snub

Showtime’s “First Ladies” made waves last year after it was revealed that the drama series will feature ex-FLOTUS Michelle Obama but not the current first lady, Melania Trump.

Deadline broke the news last year that Showtime is working on the one-hour White House drama. “First Ladies” will star Viola Davis as former president Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, who will be the primary focus of the show. Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford, the wife of former president Gerald Ford, will also be making appearances, but Melania's name was nowhere to be found on the cast list.

The current FLOTUS' exclusion from "First Ladies" once again resurfaced after Chuck Woolery, host of “Blunt Force Truth,” shared a Conservative Brief piece on the Showtime series not featuring Melania on Friday (June 26). “Melania Trump Gets Snubbed - They Gave It To Michelle Obama Instead,” he wrote on Twitter.

"Melania Trump is arguably one of the classiest and most well-respected first lady’s [sic] in American history," the piece read. "But because she is married to President Donald Trump, the left-wing entertainment industry is refusing to show her any respect."

Several Twitter users showed their support for the FLOTUS despite the alleged snub.

“Maybe because they could not find someone as beautiful and gracious as our First Lady to portray her! We love you Melania!” @Cindy14884548 wrote.

“Sad but she knows who she is and what she stands for. God Bless our First Lady,” @LuWeb1206 commented.

“She's been snubbed the entire Presidency. She's more beautiful and classy than Jackie O,” @WaterHeals posted

Meanwhile, another netizen proved she is on Melania's side by announcing that she won’t be watching Showtime’s “First Ladies.”

“Well that’s one show I won’t be watching. Does not sound that interesting to begin with. Hollywood is a joke! So are the Obamas!” @TERESAWEBB2 commented.

“First Ladies” is set in the East Wing of the White House and will showcase the history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions from America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic first ladies.

Aaron Cooley wrote the script for the upcoming show. Cooley was also the man behind the novels “Four Seats: A Thriller of the Supreme Court” and “The Guns of Ridgewood.” Davis will executive produce, while Showtime and Lionsgate TV will be co-producing, Deadline reported.

In related news, Melania looked stunning when she accompanied President Donald Trump at the Korean War Veterans Memorial on Thursday. The FLOTUS showed up wearing a black and white polka dot dress by Rosetta Getty. The fashionable first lady paired her get-up with white high heels.
