Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s love story was one for the books.

During her interview with Robin Roberts on ABC’s “20/20,” the ex-FLOTUS revealed what her first meeting with Barack was like.

Michelle said that she wasn’t impressed with all of the attention that the ex-president of the United States received when he joined her law firm, Sidley & Austin, as a first-year Harvard Law student.

But the mom of two quickly noticed how the people from her firm became smitten with Barack. The former first lady’s theory was that her husband could talk straight so everyone thought that he was wonderful.

“And his name was Barack Obama and he was from Hawaii. I thought, ‘What?’ You know, so I didn't really know what to expect,” she said.

During their first meeting, the ex-POTUS reportedly arrived late and Michelle wasn’t pleased. But the minute Barack entered the door, his wife immediately became attracted to him.

But even though he found Barack very attractive, Michelle didn’t want to date one of the few black summer associates at her firm because it was tacky.

Weeks later, Barack asked if he could take Michelle on a date, and she finally agreed.

“We had been hanging out, getting closer. Barack had suggested that we date. But I was like ‘No, no be my friend. Do this, do that. It wouldn't be right, no.’ And he was like, ‘You’re crazy, we should date. I like you, you like me,’ and I liked that about him. He was straightforward; he wasn’t playing games,” Michelle shared.

It was during their first date that Barack kissed Michelle, and the rest was history. Years later, the couple decided to tie the knot.

And a few years into their marriage, the ex-FLOTUS became pregnant. However, she suffered a miscarriage. The couple’s two daughters, Malia and Sasha, were conceived through in vitro fertilization.
