They’ve dealt with death, financial struggles, infidelity, drug abuse and even an ongoing pandemic, but now, a new challenge unlike anything else they’ve handled could make things even more difficult for the group on “A Million Little Things.”

Gary (James Roday Rodriguez) learned that Sophie (Lizzy Greene) had been lying about her relationship for a few weeks now, and that when she snuck out of the house and defied quarantine, she wasn’t going to see her boyfriend Jake (Tyler Cody), who she had dumped a few weeks earlier on the ABC series. When he then called the number that was listed under Jake’s name, the person who picked up on the other line was Sophie’s music teacher, Peter (Andrew Leeds)--the same one who offered her lessons after initially rejecting her from her choice school.

While the nature of their relationship remains undetermined, it appears things will take a very shocking and unexpected turn, with a preview clip showing that Sophie’s lessons were far from orthodox.

Sure enough, it appears the encounter will have a major effect on her, according to a synopsis for Season 3, Episode 10 “Trust Me.”

“Sophie is distraught after a disturbing encounter, and Gary calls in Maggie (Allison Miller) and Regina (Christina Moses) for support,” the synopsis reads.

Meanwhile, in rehab, Eddie (David Giuntoli) may begin to have a breakthrough in his treatment to see why he has been the way he is, as he starts to befriend the person who gave him tough love during a group meeting at the facility—Jackie (Bobbi-Jean Charlton).

“Eddie makes an unexpected friend,” the synopsis reads.

“A Million Little Things” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
