A Louisiana woman was arrested for murder after she stabbed her two young children amid a tense custody battle with her ex. Jenee Pedesclaux, 31, video-called the children's father to show how she had slit their throats, court records said.

Pedesclaux stabbed her 3-year-old daughter, Paris, and 2-year-old son, Jay'Ceon, at their home in New Orleans on Sunday.

Paris died at the hospital from "multiple sharp trauma injuries" to her neck, while Jay'Ceon was intubated in critical condition, WAFB reported.

On the day of the brutal murders, Pedesclaux initially video-called her ex, Jermaine Roberts telling him she had damaged his vehicle and that she was "not going to jail and would kill herself and the kids."

According to the distressing details revealed in the court records, Pedesclaux then FaceTimed Roberts three times so he could see his injured children. She even showed him his daughter "gasping for air," NY Post reported.

At one point during the bloodbath, Pedesclaux went on Facebook Live and blamed Roberts for the incidents. "My children are dead! I'm done! I'm done with life, and it's all Jermaine's fault! ... I'm killing myself, I'm done!" she said in the live video.

After Roberts received the initial threat call, he rushed to Pedesclaux's residence, but she locked him out. However, the father managed to force his way in by smashing a window and rushed the children to the hospital.

While Roberts was trying to get the kids, Pedesclaux allegedly threatened him with a knife and bit him. Pedesclaux also turned the knife on herself causing superficial injuries to the collar bone area. She was treated at a hospital before she was booked into jail.

Pedesclaux was charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, according to court records.

Roberts had been fighting for joint custody of the kids claiming that Pedesclaux was "not stable or providing a healthy environment for the kids." She had tested positive for benzodiazepine, cocaine, and cannabinoids during a drug screening in March.

Meanwhile, Pedesclaux's family said it was the mental health crisis that caused the "unspeakable tragedy," Nola.com reported.

"Mental health is a crisis that is affecting every family and ours is no different. The lack of mental health services and the toxic mix of social media have added to the problems we face as a community. This is a large family of faith and we ask with all humility that the city pray for our family and our Paris and Jay'Ceon," the family members said in a statement.
