National Pet Day is marked annually on April 11 to celebrate the animals, who have become an important part of our lives.

In honor of the pets in Ukraine – which has been undergoing a massive crisis since the Russian invasion – the National Pet Day page on Twitter shared a message.

"Happy #NationalPetDay! Make sure to post pictures of your pets & tag us so we have a chance to feature you! While today is a day to celebrate your pets & and promote adoption…our thoughts are with the people and pets of #Ukraine. #AdoptDontShop," the post read.

On this day, take time out of your busy schedule and dedicate your complete attention to your pets.
