Tony (Michael Weatherly) only has a few episodes left on “NCIS,” but that might be enough time to reunite him with someone special. Fans are hoping they get a chance to see him with Ziva (Cote de Pablo), who left in Season 11. So far, executive producer Gary Glasberg hasn’t axed the idea — but he hasn't confirmed it either.

Glasberg was directly asked if Ziva would return at the end of this season. “I promise you that everything you're fishing for will be delivered in some form,” he told TV Guide. That seems to imply that there will at least be a reference to Ziva, if not an actual appearance.

When Ziva left the show, her character was given an open ending. Though she told Tony that she loved him, she refused to return to Washington with him. That allows her to come back eventually, and it seems like the actress might be willing. De Pablo has never allowed Tony and Ziva fans, or Tiva shippers, to give up on the relationship.

“I do miss working on 'NCIS,'” de Pablo told Yahoo in 2015. “I talk to Michael [Weatherly] all the time … There is always hope for Tiva.”

Even if Ziva doesn’t make a surprise appearance, it seems like the writers are still aiming to satisfy longtime fans with Tony’s last episodes. “Everything that people want and think should be a part of these episodes, onscreen and off, whether it's just story or background leading up to stuff ... everything will be touched upon, and the whole writing staff is really putting some time and effort into it,” Glasberg promised.

Weatherly announced his exit from “NCIS” Season 13 earlier this year. He won’t be off TV screens for long though. The actor is already signed on to star in another CBS drama, “Bull,” next season.

“NCIS” Season 13 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
