  • The Lakers and Knicks will square off for the first time this regular season
  • The Knicks and Lakers will try to avoid dealing with a losing streak

The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks will try to bounce back from losses on Tuesday, January 31.

Ironically, the losses of both squads were at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets.

The Knicks will host the Lakers at the iconic Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, entering the game as slight favorites to prevail.

New York did not play on Monday, January 30 and will hold a homecourt advantage.

Probably favoring the Knicks is the possibility of LeBron James sitting out once more.

According to coach Darvin Ham in a report by ESPN, James sat out their game against the Nets because the 38-year-old was suffering significant soreness in his left foot.

Anthony Davis also missed that game due to a planned day off, and he remains questionable against the Knicks.

With James and Davis out, the Lakers were led by Thomas Bryant, who had 18 points and nine rebounds against the Nets.

Backing him up was Russell Westbrook, who finished with 17 markers, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.

The Lakers are averaging 117.1 points per game and tote an offensive rating of 113.

On the other end, the Knicks are scoring 114.3 with an offensive rating of 115.1.

Defensively, New York is allowing opponents 112.4 points per contest.

The Knicks are installed as -2.5 favorites to prevail over the Lakers, who are at +2.5.

Meanwhile, the moneyline set for this clash is -136 for New York and +110 for Los Angeles.

The game will be telecast over TNT at 7:00 PM ET with live streaming available via the NBA League Pass.
