Nick Carter honored his late brother, Aaron Carter, in his newly released single, "Hurts to Love You."

On Wednesday, the Backstreet Boys singer released the ballad, which is filled with emotional messages for his late sibling.

In the track, Nick, 42, wished Aaron overcame his demons so he could have lived his life to the fullest, according to Page Six.

"Always hoped your tomorrows / Would be better than the days before / I hoped you'd find your road to follow / To a place you were happy in this world," Nick sings in the single.

The "Do I Have To Cry For You" crooner further expresses in his song that he will never stop loving his brother even though it "hurts to love" him.

"It hurts to love you but I love you still / Miss you with all my heart, you know I always will / I always prayed for peace somehow your soul could feel / It hurts to love you but I love you still," he laments in the chorus.

A snippet of the song's music video that Nick shared on Instagram showed throwback clips featuring Aaron during their childhood days. Nick watches the scenes while singing the ballad in the preview.

"We all have someone in our lives that no matter what they do and how bad it hurts you still love them. So I worked it out the best way I know how. #HurtsToLoveYou," he captioned the post.

Fans quickly flooded the comments section with grieving messages as many were also overcome with emotions upon hearing the song.

"It makes me cry. Probably your most emotional and heartfelt song ever. Thank you for sharing your innermost with us," one wrote.

"The song is painfully beautiful! He loved you too, even though [he] struggled to admit it," another added.

"Proud of you for being so vulnerable and sharing your pain, grief, and this healing process with us," a different user commented.

The song echoes the sentiments Nick shared on social media when he learned of his brother's passing in November 2022. At the time, he admitted that their relationship was complicated, but his love for his brother never changed, as per TooFab.

"I always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed," Nick added.

The "I Want Candy" singer was found dead in his California home on Nov. 5 last year. He was 34.

The official cause of death of the former child star remains unknown since the toxicology results are still pending, Page Six noted.
