“Nefarious” for the Nintendo Switch finally has a release date. More details about the upcoming 2D action platformer have also been released online.

A couple of weeks ago, Nintendo Everything revealed that “Nefarious” is coming to the Switch console. Unfortunately, no official announcement about the game was made by its developer and publisher at the time.

But just recently, Nintendo launched a webpage for the game that discloses its price, release date and key features. The StarBlade-developed and Digerati-published adventure game is coming to the Nintendo Switch’s eShop on Sept. 13, 2018 and it is going to cost $14.99.

What makes “Nefarious” special is that players won’t be assuming the role of the heroic protagonist. Instead, they will step into the game as the villain, which is definitely cool since players will get to do all the bad stuff.

The game features five different kingdoms, each having its own iconic battle in which players have to go head-to-head with heroes as the character named Crow. Crow is described as an evil genius who is out to conquer the world.

In order to become the leader of the world, Crow should kidnap the princesses of the kingdoms. Once all of the princesses are assembled, players will have the Doom Howitzer, which is a royalty-powered death ray.

What’s interesting about “Nefarious” is that StarBlade intentionally incorporated spoofs of princess kidnapping from various video games. Moreover, the game is filled with lovingly crafted 2D animation and illustrated backdrops.

Players will also be allowed to mix and match customization options for their explosive punches, and they will also have the ability to unlock different ammo types for their grenade launcher. And if all things turn out well, players can have a shot at unlocking a secret ending after uncovering the mysteries in the game.

Again, players will assume the villain role in “Nefarious.” Thus, they will also act as the big baddies during boss battles with the heroes.
