Child psychologist Gregory Ramey was indicted to 145 counts related to downloading child pornography on Wednesday.

Ramey, 70, of Bevercreek in southwest Ohio, was indicted on Montgomery County on Wednesday and surrendered to authorities on Thursday.

The offender was placed on administrative leave and was fired last August from the Dayton Children's Hospital where he formerly served as executive director for mental health resources after hospital officials discovered and investigation led by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which revealed that Ramey downloaded child pornography, US News reported.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said that what Ramey did was an "egregious abuse" of his patient's and the public's trust.

His bond was set at $500,000.

Ramey wrote a parenting column for the Dayton Daily News that was distributed by the New York Times wire service.
