‘One Piece’ 981 Spoilers: Yamato Re-Appears; Kid Proves Why He’s Perceived As Luffy’s Rival

“One Piece” Chapter 980 showed fans the interesting attacks Scratchmen Apoo launched against Luffy and Zoro. The chapter ended with Zoro getting a cut across his chest and Luffy waking up from his unconscious state. “One Piece” Chapter 981 might show the continuation of Kid and Apoo’s battle with Eustass proving why he is perceived as Luffy’s rival.

“One Piece” Chapter 981: Kid vs. Apoo Fight Continues

The previous chapter ended with Kid launching his powerful attack against Apoo, whom he called a traitor. The fandom was surprised to find out that Scratchmen Apoo is strong and hides an impressive set of attacks. In the manga, this is the second time that Apoo shows his real power; the first was in Saobody when he fought against Admiral Kizaru.

Aside from being one of the captains of the Worst Generation, Apoo is also a supernova, and so is Eustass Kid. While it is likely that Scratchmen Apoo will put up a decent fight, Kid would try to defeat him and prove why he is deemed as Luffy’s rival. Kid’s Punk Gibson attack surely did Apoo some damage and “One Piece” chapter 981 would show the fierce battle between these two supernovas.

“One Piece” Chapter 981: Yamato Enters the Picture

In “One Piece” Chapter 979, several fans claimed that the face shown in the last panel spying on Robin and Jinbe belongs to Yamato, Kaido’s son. It is possible that aside from the Kid vs. Apoo fight, “One Piece” chapter 981 would show Yamato still spying on the Straw Hats. Maybe he would interact with Robin and Jinbe and pretend to be a friend in “One Piece” Chapter 981.

The upcoming chapter might also show updates on Sanji, Brook, Chopper, Law and the Nine Scabbards. In the previous chapter, Law said that Luffy’s rampage is part of the plan since he already anticipated that the Straw Hats' captain would do things outside of the plan. Law mentioned that Luffy’s rampage would allow other parties to advance into Kaido’s mansion silently.

“One Piece” chapter 981 is on a week-long hiatus. It is scheduled to arrive on June 5, 2020.
