Hallmark Channel’s merry holiday season continues with the newest “Countdown to Christmas” holiday premiere, “Open By Christmas.” The film, starring Alison Sweeney and Brennan Elliott, premieres Friday night.

The film will be a special treat for Hallmark fans, as it is bringing two veterans for the network together for the first time. Fans will certainly recognize Elliott, who has starred in the Hallmark Channel titles “Love You Like Christmas,” “All of My Heart: Inn Love,” “All of My Heart: The Wedding,” “All Summer Long” and “Christmas in Vienna.” He has also starred in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Crossword Mysteries” and “Flower Shop Mysteries” movies, as well as “Christmas at Grand Valley” and “Christmas Encore.”

Sweeney is also a recognizable face, not only for her long-running role as Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” but for Hallmark titles as well. In addition to other titles, she has starred in Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas at Holly Lodge” and “Good Morning Christmas!” She has also been a staple for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, starring in “The Chronicle Mysteries” and “Murder She Baked” movies, as well as the titles “Time For You To Come Home for Christmas” and “The Irresistible Blueberry Farm.”

Erica Durance (“Christmas Stars,” “The Christmas Chalet”) also stars.

So what will happen in this holiday film? Let’s find out.

“While helping her parents move, Nicky (Sweeney) discovers a card given to her in high school that she never knew existed. In it, a secret admirer confides their true emotions,” a synopsis reads. “With the support of her lifelong best friend Simone (Durance), Nicky embarks on a quest to find and thank the anonymous author.”

However, Simone has her own challenges this holiday season as well.

“Meanwhile, Simone is a working, single mother who feels like she’s losing touch with her teenage son, especially as she plans to marry again and start a new chapter in life,” the synopsis reads. “Simone turns to Nicky, who helps her understand she’s holding on too tight in fear of her son growing up and everything changing.”

As the season continues, the two realize the true power of the bond they share, and how it may just be the most important thing for them both this Christmas.

“Nicky and Simone help each other find answers to the past and present, all kindled through the special bond that has long made them feel like sisters,” the synopsis concludes.

“Open By Christmas” airs Friday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
