A long, long time ago, people saw moms as the primary caregiver at home but things have gone different nowadays. Moms are stepping up, taking a stand and fighting for what they believe is just and fair.

So what might have happened if moms ran 2020?

The netizens have spoken their opinions on the matter through the social media platform Twitter. The discussion via Twitter using #IfMomsRan2020 touched several topics, including health and politics.

One netizen uploaded a meme of President Donald Trump pointing a finger to his temple. Texts on the picture said COVID-19 would kill thousands but the Trump pandemic would kill millions.

“150K Americans would be alive because Moms believe the science. #IfMomRan2020,” she tweeted.

Another netizen said that the coronavirus would’ve been contained if moms ran 2020.

If moms ran 2020, this other netizen uploaded a snap of a guy in an astronaut’s suit contained inside a transparent ball. It was accompanied by a tweet saying that’s how he’d be required to leave home —with his unique COVID-19 PPE.

“If #MomsRan2020 we’d have to march ourselves back to the beginning and try again with a better attitude,” another netizen tweeted.

One netizen said people would feel safer if moms ran 2020, while another pointed out that there would be less looting because moms would have had them apologize and return what they stole.

Amid the successive tweets discussing what would’ve happened if moms ran 2020, @Anjeew tweeted a video clip of moms singing “hands up, please don’t shoot me” accompanied by the video’s location and the time.

Ted Corcoran, a former Deputy Digital Director with Organizing Together 2020 North Carolina, tweeted a video from Sergio Olmos, on Tuesday of protesters chanting the same in Portland.

Amid the protest against police brutality, racism and inequality, The Wall of Moms did the most primal thing a mother would do —protect their young ones. The group of self-identified mothers reportedly formed human shields between the other Black Lives Matter protesters and police officers.

Beverly Barnum, one of the original organizers behind Wall of Moms, said that the protesters thanked God when moms arrived during the protest, WBUR reported.
