the originals season 3 spoilers
Lucien (Andrew Lees, left) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan, right) will reunite in the Season 3 premiere of "The Originals." The CW

Aunt Dahlia (Claudia Black) may be dead but the drama surely isn’t. “The Originals” will return with more supernatural chaos when Season 3 of the hit CW series airs on Thursday – and according to a promo video for the anticipated premiere, things are going to get pretty bloody when fans reunite with their favorite Mikaelson siblings.

Showrunners Julie Plec and Michael Narducci revealed in a producer’s preview for the upcoming installment that a gruesome murder will take place in the heart of New Orleans.

“Someone tortured and killed a local,” Cami (Leah Pipes) reveals to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in a scene from the premiere, adding that the murderer left the mutilated corpse out in the open for all to see. “I think it was a vampire,” she adds.

But which vamp could be responsible for such a devious crime? Well, Lucien’s (Andrew Lees) NOLA debut makes him particularly suspicious in our book. Lucien, the city’s newcomer, is Klaus’ progeny – the first member of the hybrid’s sire line to be exact. And according to the Hollywood Reporter, the blood-sucking vamp has made his way to the Big Easy to settle an old score with his creator.

“We learned how to make vampires when my sire was created,” Morgan explained during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, adding that fans will get to see bond between the two blood-suckers in Season 3 of “The Originals.”

Not only will viewers get a glimpse of their chemistry in the upcoming season but audiences will also get to see how Klaus and Lucien’s relationship originated. Fans got a sneak peek of that particular scene in the producer’s preview below.

“Just like we got to meet Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in Season 1 and learn the story of Klaus and Marcel’s friendship and relationship, now were’ going back about 900 years so we can meet the feisty and funny Lucien,” Plec says as a flashback, featuring Rebekah (Claire Holt), plays.

Could Lucien really be the one behind the vicious attacks? Fans will find out when “The Originals” Season 3 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. EDT on the CW.
