when does orphan black season 3 start
A new promo for "Orphan Black" Season 3 reveals a premiere date. Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) and Rudy (Ari Millen) both appear in the video. BBC America

The Clone Club can officially start a countdown to the “Orphan Black” Season 3 premiere. After releasing the first image from the upcoming season earlier this week, fans were begging for more from the drama. Luckily, BBC America gave them an early Christmas present in the form of a promo video and an official release date. “Orphan Black” Season 3 starts Saturday, Apr. 18 on BBC America.

The promo is ominous and creepy, but it doesn’t reveal too much about the Season 3. Unlike the first promo for the new season, it features Tatiana Maslany, who was recently nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, as Cosima, Sarah, Helena and Alison. They don’t give away too much about their upcoming storylines. However, they make it clear that this season will be very dark.

“This is a fight for knowledge,” Cosima says.

“This is war,” Sarah says.

Helena utters something incomprehensible. We assume it has to be in her native Ukrainian.

“Those with power do not give it up easily,” Alison says.

“They never have,” Charlotte (Cynthia Galant) says. It seems the youngest clone will return to the series for “Orphan Black” Season 3.

Then another familiar face that doesn’t belong to Tatiana Maslany appears. The image flickers between Rudy (Ari Millen), the Castor clone that Sarah meets, and another Clone in a hoodie and baseball cap. Could it be Mark? We’ll have to see if he grew a mustache in the show’s premiere. “And they never will,” the male clones says.

Notably absent from the promo is Rachel (Maslany). She was missing from the synopsis, and executive producer Graeme Manson has teased that Rachel’s fate will remain unknown.

“I suppose the main question for Rachel is, how deep did that pencil go?” Manson said to Entertainment Weekly. Unfortunately, fans won’t know that answer until spring.

“Orphan Black” Season 3 will premiere Saturday, Apr. 18, on BBC America. What do you think Helena is saying? Sound off in the comments section below!
