“Orphan Black” fans were a bit surprised when Jesse was introduced in Season 2. Helena was the last clone anyone expected to have a love interest, but Jesse seemed to be the kind of guy that could understand her. Fans definitely want Patrick J. Adams back for “Orphan Black” Season 3, according to the actor.

“I’ve already got a lot of tweets, social media support,” Adams told TV Line. “People really seem to really want Jesse to come back and help Helena out of her rut, and it would be an honor to do so. Hopefully, that’s something the writers are interested in doing.”

The odd couple met at a bar, and Helena completely lied about her past (it’s hard to explain life as a kidnapped, murdering clone). Jesse was completely enamored by her, and he gave her what was likely Helena’s first kiss. It was a sweet moment that really showed Helena’s humanity. They danced and arm-wrestled until she was arrested for assaulting a man who tried to interrupt their night together.

Adams loved the outlandish storyline on the clone drama. “I told them that I would do anything to be on the show – whatever,” Adams said. “I just wanted to work with [Tatiana Maslany] and support the show as best I could. When I saw the part come up, I thought, ‘This is going to be a really fun, strange thing to do that’s very different from what I get to do the rest of the time.’ She’s just such a tremendous actor and to get to play off against what I think is her most extreme clone was a treat.”

Helena certainly hasn’t forgotten their one night together. After their meeting, Helena kept Jesse’s hat. The trucker hat is the only thing Helena left behind when she was kidnapped from Felix’s apartment building by the military. Fans haven’t forgotten Adams’ character yet either.

Adams said, “It seems like something that the fans really enjoyed, as well. I had a great time. I tweeted my way onto the show in the first place. Now I’m trying to tweet my way back on the show, start a ‘Bring Jesse Back’ movement. … I haven’t figured out the hashtag yet. I’ll let the fans decide. The Internet is far more creative than I am.”

Fans will have to wait until “Orphan Black” Season 3 to find out if Jesse will return to the show (though he could also appear in the comics).

“Orphan Black” Season 3 will return to BBC America in 2015. Do you hope Jesse returns? Sound off in the comments section below!
