Narcos-Season-3
Pablo Escobar's brother Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria warned Netflix about its "Narcos" location because Mexico and Colombia are dangerous without their blessing. Netflix

Pablo Escobar's brother, Roberto De Jesus Escobar Gaviria, talked about the safety of the loction where Netflix's "Narcos" is filming its fourth season.

"Narcos'" location manager named Carlos Muñoz Portal was shot dead in the location. His body was found along with his car in a remote area near San Bartolo Actopan. His death raised concern if the show will continue in Mexico or move back to Colombia, Independent reported.

After the crew's death in Mexico, Gaviria warned Netflix that it should change its security protocol. Gaviria, who has an ongoing dispute with the entertainment company, said that Mexico and Colombia are dangerous especially without their blessing.

"I don't want Netflix or any other film production company to film any movies in Medellin or Colombia that relate to me or my brother Pablo without authorization from Escobar Inc.," Gaviria told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is very dangerous. Especially without our blessing. This is my country."

Gaviria is at odds with Netflix after the company produced "Narcos" involving Escobar as one of its main characters without the family's permission. He demanded $1 billion and threatened that they will close the show if they do not receive the money.

In 2014, Gaviria, founded Escobar Inc. and registered "successor-in-interest-rights" for his brother in California. According to him, the show used their trademarks and brands.

"You see, we own all the trademarks to all of our names and also for the Narcos brand. I don't play around with these people in Silicon Valley. They have their phones and nice products. But they don't know life and would never dare to survive in the jungle of Medellin or Colombia. I have done that," he told THR. "Their mothers should have left them in the womb. That is what we tell people like this if they come to Colombia."

Netflix already killed Escobar, played by Wagner Moura, in "Narcos" Season 2. This saddened many fans as the kingpin's life was very interesting that they couldn't imagine the series without him. However, the TV show producers stressed that they called the show "Narcos" and not Escobar because they wanted to tell a story about the drug war and not just about one drug lord. The recent season of the show focused on cocaine and corruption with the rise of Cali Cartel.
