A 9-year-old girl was viciously attacked by multiple pit bulls in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident took place Sunday when the girl was passing through the neighborhood.

According to the girl's grandmother, Linda Williams, the dogs' owner lives next door and their family previously had issues with those dogs roaming the area without a leash in the past.

On Sunday, the 9-year-old was violently attacked by numerous pit bulls while riding her bike home from the store.

“She said they knocked her off her bike and then all three of them charged her. One was at her face One hit her knee and one bit a hole in her back,” Williams said.

The surveillance footage at the girl's home shows her returning without her bike. Williams said it’s because she had to get away from the attack.

The family took pictures of the wounds that show bite marks on her face and blood soaking through her pants from a bite on the leg. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital where she had to get stitches for the wound.

The family told local media that this was not the first time they were facing issues with the dogs.

“They have too many dogs, those dogs don’t ever be on a leash you can ask anybody that live around here,” Williams said, adding that the dogs' owner tried to put up a privacy fence to keep the canines from getting out but it doesn’t work.

Speaking to Action News Jax, the dogs' owner claimed two pit bulls were involved in the attack. However, the girl's family said there were three dogs present at the time of the incident.

The dogs' owner admitted the canines have gotten loose in the neighborhood before but have not been violent.

Williams urged that people must be careful to prevent another dangerous attack from happening again.

“ A friendly dog wouldn’t bite a child,” Williams said.

The young girl’s mother said the dog owner told her the pit bulls were not vaccinated. It remains unclear if the dogs will be quarantined or put down.
