There’s a new Pokémon in “Pokémon GO” and it’s arrival to the mobile game is special. Niantic apparently decided that the best way to introduce this Normal-type pocket monster is by launching it on its own and not with a set of other creatures.

On Thursday, Eurogamer pointed out that Spinda was quietly added to “Pokémon GO.” Spinda is a spiral-eyed, bipedal panda with rabbit-like features. True to its confused look, Spinda has dizzying and scattering dance-like movements. Its Abilities include Tangled Feet and Own Tempo, while its Weakness is Fighting.

For those who want to obtain their own Spinda in the augmented reality game, it is available as a brand new task reward. They will need to land three curveball throws in a row to get their very own Spinda.

Spinda is known for having randomized color spots across its body. In the Pokémon games, the variations of Spinda’s dots are too many to count (actually it’s over 4 billion). But for “Pokémon GO,” Niantic has decided to just stick to eight variants. So far, only one is available in the game. In the Pokédex, this is listed as Spinda’s form number eight.

The introduction of one Spinda form begs the question: When will the other seven arrive? Spinda’s inclusion also means another challenge for players who want to catch them all. It’s also interesting to see if a new reward is given if players can collect all eight forms.

Another implication of Spinda’s arrival has to do with the possibly imminent release of Gen 4 Pokémon. Polygon has learned from fan speculations that another form could be introduced every day until all eight forms are completely part of the game.

Going by this theory, the daily release could be a countdown to the release of the Gen 4 creatures, who are from the Shinnoh region. However, there are also fans speculating that the other Spinda forms could be released on a weekly basis. Niantic is mum at the moment, so it’s hard to tell which is which.

For now, players can focus on capturing Registeel, the latest Gen 3 Legendary Pokémon to be featured in the game. Registeel is found in Raid Battles until Aug. 21. After this, it will be replaced by Regirock, according to GameSpot.
