Two people died early Sunday in a bizarre car accident in New Jersey, as a 2010 Porsche Boxster was launched into the second floor of a commercial building.

Braden DeMartin, 22, was driving at high speeds at about 6:30 a.m. before he hit an embankment in Toms River, New Jersey. Police confirmed that both DeMartin and passenger Daniel Foley, 23, were killed in the accident. Skid marks were left on the across four lanes of the road near the building.

The building, which has several businesses including a real estate company, was unoccupied at the time of the accident.

The vehicle was removed from the building by 12 p.m. Firefighters from the Toms River Fire Department were assisted in the removal by the nearby fire companies.

Bradley Billhimer, the prosecutor for Ocean County, stated that his office would not be leading an investigation into the incident. The building has been deemed unsafe by the town building inspector.

Toms River is located along the New Jersey coast.

In January 2018, a driver of a Nissan Altima crashed into the second story of a dental office in Orange County, California. Two people suffered minor injuries.
