Every year on Sept. 13, we observe Positive Thinking Day, which reminds us to put aside everything negative, and concentrate on the good things in life.

Even though it is not easy to ditch negative thoughts, there are various techniques that can help us achieve it. This includes catching our thoughts and reframing them, and writing them down on a paper. Reading inspiration quotes and books can also help us stay positive.

Positive thinking can have many benefits, including reducing stress and the risk of heart diseases, and lowering depression. So, on this special day, keep negative thoughts aside and think positive. Here are a few quotes that help us do that.

1) "Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create" - Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart.

2) "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." - Winston Churchill

4) "If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges." - Pat Riley

5) "In order to carry a positive action, we must develop here a positive vision." - Dalai Lama

6) “Things have a way of working themselves out if we just remain positive.” – Lou Holtz

7) “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” – Alice Walker

8) “The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.” – Oprah Winfrey

9) "You are the only one who can control the way you think. Make sure you nourish the positive thoughts and weed out the negative ones! - Catherine Pulsifer

10) "The more positive thoughts you have, the better you feel, which causes you to have more positive thoughts, then you feel even better." - James Borg, Mind Power
