Prince Charles is a lot happier with Camilla Parker Bowles than with Princess Diana.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale-like royal wedding. But it was not a secret that they had an unhappy marriage which forced the Queen to tell Princess Diana to divorce the heir apparent. Many believed that Prince Charles has always loved Camilla Parker Bowles.

When Prince Charles slowly introduced Camilla as his new partner following Princess Diana’s death, they did not immediately gain the public’s support because Camilla was not well-liked, but the Prince of Wales was a lot happier.

“Camilla was not popular or well liked, [though] this has changed a lot since the marriage as Camilla has taken on a lot of patronages and Charles is a lot happier,” Marlene Koenig told Town & Country.

Unlike Princess Diana, Camilla is also more equipped when it comes to socializing with the people. According to the duchess, she had to thank her parents for teaching her manners since they proved to be helpful to her when it comes to carrying out her royal duties.

“My mother could be quite fierce sometimes. I remember once there was a dinner party at home with some of the most boring neighbors in the world and we were dragged down to join them for dinner,” Camilla recalled.

“We used to complain and say, ‘Can’t we stay here and watch the television over fish fingers?’ and she’d sit us down at the dinner table, and the minute there was silence, she used to say, ‘Talk! I don’t care what you talk about, talk about your budgie or your pony but keep the conversation going…’ And so I’ve never been able not to talk. It’s in the psyche, not to leave a silence.”

Royal fans have discussed why Prince Charles’ marriage with Camilla works unlike his marital ties with Princess Diana. According to Deanna Eppers, Prince Charles and Camilla had “chemistry” which means a lot for married couples.

She added that Prince Charles saw Camilla as a fun and intelligent woman who liked dogs and the outdoors. On the other hand, Princess Diana was “dumb.” She also added that the late Princess of Wales was a “complicated person” with “serious emotional issues,” so Prince Charles and Princess Diana were “poorly matched.”
