Prince Charles reportedly made Prince Andrew upset after snubbing Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

The daughters of the Duke and Duchess of York don’t receive an allowance from the privy purse. According to journalist Edward Klein, this is due to Prince Charles’ decision.

“When Charles ascends the throne — which he will do despite all the talk to the contrary – he’d like the Royal Family to be streamlined: he wants a smaller, more cost-effective monarchy,” Klein wrote in 2011 for Vanity Fair.

He added that Prince Andrew made a tremendous effort to keep Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie close to Queen Elizabeth II in order to assure their future as fully paid-up members of the Firm. The Duke of York also wanted to give Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice round-the-clock security and the rank of working royals.

“But if Charles has his way, the girls will be thrown off the royal payroll and have to fend for themselves,” he added, which was exactly what happened.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s children didn’t become working royals after they graduated in the university. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also lost their security protection.

Antonia Hoyle reported the same. According to her, the Duke of York wanted Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to undertake official royal duties so they will be paid from the public purse.

Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth II denied his request, which left Prince Andrew furious because he felt that his girls are being forgotten while Prince Charles’ sons Prince William and Prince Harry are taking the center stage.

Prince Charles and Prince Andrew’s have been rumored to be feuding. In 2012, the Prince of Wales deliberately snubbed the Yorks for the Queen’s Diamonds Jubilee celebration. He only invited Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry to join him at the Queen’s side.

According to an insider, Prince Philip would have not allowed it if he was just well enough. However, the Duke of Edinburgh was sick and couldn’t make it into the event.

Prince Andrew also didn’t like the unfair comparison between him and Prince Charles when they were still studying. Everything he does was compared to his older brother and he was always the “second best.”
