Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are suing some paparazzi for taking photos of their son Archie.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to sue some media outlets for taking photos of their son in their own backyard. Michael Kump, one of the attorneys of Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump & Aldisert, filed a complaint in Los Angeles County Super Court and noted that the royal couple is suing because of “serial intrusion” on the privacy of their child, who is just 14 months old.

The complaint stated that some paparazzi and publications have “flown drones” to obtain pictures of the royal couple and their child. He also revealed that some media outlets went one step ahead and flew in “helicopters” above their backyard for some images.

“Some paparazzi and media outlets have flown drones a mere 20 feet above the house, as often as three times a day, to obtain photographs of the couple and their young son in their private residence. Others have flown helicopters above the backyard of the residence, as early as 5:30 a.m. and as late as 7:00 p.m., waking neighbors and their son, day after day,” THR quoted the complaint Kump filed.

The publication also reported that Markle and Harry do not know who clicked the pictures and who is trying to sell them, so they are now suing John Doe defendants and hoping that they will get to know the identities of the photographers.

The attorney also explained that the sole point of taking photos of a 14-month-old baby is to “earn a profit.”

On behalf of Duke and Duchess, Kump also issued a statement and said the royal couple is filing the “lawsuit” to protect their young son and his privacy.

"Every individual and family member in California is guaranteed by law the right to privacy in their home. No drones, helicopters, or telephoto lenses can take away that right. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are filing this lawsuit to protect their young son's right to privacy in their home without intrusion by photographers, and to uncover and stop those who seek to profit from these illegal actions,” THR quoted Kump, as saying.

The couple is also seeking “compensatory” and “punitive” damages.
