KEY POINTS

  • Prince Harry was crowned the sexiest royal in a new People magazine poll
  • He beat Prince Felix of Luxembourg, Prince Mateen of Brunei and his older brother, Prince William
  • Some Twitter users believe that there are other royals who are more deserving of the title

Prince Harry is still considered the "sexiest royal" after resigning as a senior member of the British royal family.

Earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex gave up his HRH title and moved to California with wife Meghan Markle and their son, Archie. Despite this, Prince Harry remains the "sexiest royal" for many based on a new People Magazine poll.

Prince Harry managed to beat runners-up Prince Carl Phillip of Sweden, Prince Felix of Luxembourg, Prince Mateen of Brunei and his older brother, Prince William.

This comes a year after Prince Harry was also named People's "sexiest dad alive," Page Six reported.

The outlet also noted that some may take issue with the Duke of Sussex's eligibility since he is no longer a working royal. And a number of social media users indeed had a problem with Prince Harry being dubbed sexiest royal.

"PRINCE HARRY?????? SEXY??? IN WHICH UNIVERSE," one commented.

"Prince Harry should not be anywhere near the word sexy," another wrote.

"Nothing sexy about this man! And he is no longer royal! Just a social media fellow - like anybody," a third Twitter user commented.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users believe there are royals more deserving of the title such as Prince Mateen of Brunei and Prince Nikolai of Denmark.

"Real talk, how did Prince Harry win over this guy as the sexiest royal," one wrote, referring to Prince Mateen. "No offense to Prince Harry, but why him? Prince Mateen is much sexier," another tweeted.

"Is Prince Harry sexier than Prince Nikolai?!!!...come on!!" a third Twitter user wrote.

"Those people have obviously never seen Carl Phillip of Sweden," another netizen commented.

But many think that Prince Harry deserves the win, with one fan writing, "I may be biased, but Prince Harry is the most handsome royal and its not just about his looks; it’s more about his heart (just like his mother)."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry was recently criticized after not releasing a public statement on BBC's investigation into the circumstances that led to Princess Diana's 1995 "Panorama" interview. He was accused of not supporting his older brother Prince William, who confirmed that he was backing the probe, and failing to protect his mother's legacy.

A recent report, however, said that the duke was received updates on the inquiry and was aware of everything that was going on. An unnamed source close to Prince Harry called the claims against him "horrid and offensive" and accused the press of trying to "drive a wedge" between the brothers.
