Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth were a very stunning couple especially when they much younger.

This week, a throwback photo of the two royals standing in Balmoral Castle was released. In the snap, the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Majesty look as happy and as healthy as ever.

The Queen is wearing a red buttoned-down sweater and green skirt. She is grinning from ear to ear while her hands are clasped to her stomach. Prince Philip is standing beside his beautiful wife. He is wearing a coat, tie, vest, and tartan skirt.

Also, in the photo is one of the Queen’s adorable dogs. It was revealed that the photo was taken on the grounds of Balmoral Castle in 1984. This means that the Queen was only 58 years old in the snap. Prince Philip, on the other hand, was 63 years old.

The unearthed photo was taken by their third child and second son, Prince Andrew, who was 24 at that time. The photo was shared to commemorate the Queen’s arrival to the castle every summer.

Shortly after the photo was uploaded, royal fans commented on how talented Prince Andrew is in taking beautiful photos.

“Prince Andrew developed photographer – 1984! Her Majesty & Duke of Edinburgh are the epitome of British Family,” the fan wrote.

“Happy holidays Royal Family and especially Her Majesty welcomed to Balmoral Castle with a Guard of Honor – how very sweet and splendid a tradition this is!” another person wrote.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has a special relationship with his parents. In fact, there are rumors that he is the favorite child of the Queen. But despite their closeness, the trio couldn’t be more different from each other.

Prince Andrew reportedly disliked one activity that his parents enjoyed. In the book “Prince Edward,” royal author Ingrid Seward said that Prince Andrew had a different attitude towards horses. This was in contrast to Prince Edward’s fondness for the animal.
