Prince William is reportedly very concerned about his dad Prince Charles’ health after he found out that the heir to the throne is positive for coronavirus.

According to In Touch Weekly, Prince Charles called Prince William and Prince Harry immediately after getting his test results to share with them the news. Prince Charles was experiencing mild symptoms that’s why he decided to get tested for COVID-19.

“William’s obviously concerned about Charles, but he’s trying to remain calm and level-headed. He told his dad that he’s willing to step up and do whatever he can to support him while he rests up,” a source said.

While it is true that Prince Charles contacted his sons after getting his diagnosis, it is unclear if Prince William really expressed his desire to step up while the heir is recovering in Balmoral. But royal experts have previously claimed that the Duke of Cambridge will have no choice but to take on more responsibilities now that the older members of the royal family are on self-quarantine.

During her interview with 9Honey, royal author Katie Nicholl called Prince William and Kate Middleton best placed members of the royal family because they are the pillars of support for the nation at the moment.

“We're seeing William step up in that statesman role. It strikes me as interesting that the first member of the royal family to address the nation has been William. Obviously William and Kate aren't in the vulnerable sector, therefore they are perhaps the best-placed or among the best placed of the royal family to be able to help at the moment,” Nicholl said.

Just before Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that London and the United Kingdom are in lockdown, Prince William and Middleton visited the staff at the call center for NHS 111. While there, the royal couple praised the staff amid the coronavirus outbreak.
