Prince William’s holidays with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will soon change.

Beth Allcock, a journalist for Express, noted that Prince George is now 5 years old, and he is also third in line to the throne. This means that Prince William may no longer travel with him in the coming years due to some safety concerns

Regulations state that since Prince William and Prince George are heirs to the throne, they are not allowed to travel together. Prince William may still opt to travel with all of his three children and his wife, Kate Middleton until Prince George is 11 years ago.

When Prince George turns 12, he will no longer be allowed to travel with his dad. Prince George will most likely travel with his mom and two younger siblings. However, it is important to note that there is some flexibility to this rule. As long as Queen Elizabeth II allows Prince William to travel with Prince George then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Throughout the past couple of years, the royal kids have only traveled with their parents. In fact, Prince George was recently spotted in the same vehicle as with Prince William when they attended the Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

According to InStyle, Prince William may have broken royal protocol at that time. However, royal etiquette expert Alexandra Messervy of the English Manner said that this protocol typically applies when royals are traveling by plane.

“Nowadays it would appear that traveling together by car doesn’t carry the same issue as by plane, but they will, of course, have security police protection. But I suppose they believe that things are relatively safe now,” she said.

Prince William’s recent outing with Prince George was not the first time that he traveled with his successor. Prince William went to Australia with Prince George years ago, and they rode the same plane together.

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the same rule also applies to Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis when they turn 12 years old.
