Prince William got candid about how the conflict between Russia and Ukraine became a topic of conversation at home.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have three kids — Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. All of them already attend school and have heard about the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the Ukrainian Culture Centre in London to support the Ukrainians in the U.K. The royal couple brought homemade treats from the Kensington Palace kitchen, including chocolate brownies and granola bars, for the volunteers. They wore pins showcasing the colors blue and yellow for the Ukrainian flag.

During the visit, the royal couple chatted with the members of the Ukrainian community, and the future king shared how their kids asked them about the war in Ukraine, People reported.

"Ours have been coming home asking all about it," Prince William shared, according to journalist Rebecca English. "They are obviously talking about it with their friends at school."

When discussing the sensitive subject with their children, Prince William said he had to "choose my words carefully to explain what is going on."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have already voiced their support for Ukraine. In a tweet, they recalled their meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife in October 2020. They praised their "hope and optimism for Ukraine's future."

"Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine's people as they bravely fight for that future," Prince William and Middleton continued, ending the post with an emoji of the Ukraine flag and their initials "W&C."

President Zelenskyy responded to the Cambridges' thoughtfulness. In a tweet, the Ukrainian leader said he and his wife "are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia's invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens." He ended his message by writing, "Good will triumph."

Prince William and Middleton's kids seemed to have become more inquisitive while growing up. The Duke of Cambridge shared that whenever they would have a royal tour abroad, their kids would ask where they were going. The royal couple would then show them their destination on the map.

Prince William also previously mentioned how his eldest son, Prince George, was "annoyed" about people who litter.

"George at school recently has been doing litter picking, and I didn't realize but talking to him the other day, he was already showing that he was getting a bit confused," the Duke of Cambridge told the BBC. "[George was] a bit sort of annoyed by the fact they went out litter picking one day and then the very next day, they did the same route, same time and pretty much all the same litter they picked up was back again."
