Princess Diana experienced a shocking weight loss before her wedding to Prince Charles.

Princess Diana had a slim figure, but she was thinner when she walked down the aisle. According to the late Princess of Wales’ wedding dress designer, she was losing so much weight that they have to redo her gown due to her shrinking frame.

“She did lose weight,” Elizabeth Emanuel who worked on Princess Diana’s gown said.

“She was losing so much we even had to start again a couple of times. Her waist was a size 23 at the end, she was tiny like a model.”

Princess Diana’s waist was known to be an American size 000 and was the health waist measurement of a 12-year-old child. Emanuel confessed that Princess Diana’s shocking weight loss affected their work because they had to keep on redesigning the gown, so it would look perfect on the bride.

“We put it down to nerves. But it did make it incredibly difficult for us to get on with making the dress,” Emanuel continued.

“We had to keep taking the bodice in and changing the pattern. The last thing we wanted was to make it up in silk, then have to play around with that. Silk soon looks worn if you work it too much.”

According to Sally Bedell Smith in her book “Charles: The Misunderstood Prince,” Princess Diana was “alarmingly thin” weeks before her wedding and felt “isolated” and “intimidated.”

Smith said that Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom lost nearly 14 pounds. She was in bad shape, anxious, depressed, and volatile. She was also claustrophobic and behind closed doors, Princess Diana was reportedly suffering from bulimia. Her secret binge-eating and self-induced vomiting had inflicted her before when she was stressed.

Princess Diana was already problematic before she tied the knot with Prince Charles because she found out that he had an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

After their wedding, Princess Diana made a heartbreaking confession. She said that while she walked down the aisle she was looking for Camilla and was hoping that her relationship with Prince Charles was already over. Unfortunately, she was disappointed because the Prince of Wales’ affair with Camilla continued during their marriage.
