Princess Elisabetta and Prince Amedeo of Belgium announced the name of their first child, a baby girl. The couple left the Saint-Pierre University Hospital in Brussels Friday. As they posed for photographers, Amedeo, 30, and his wife Elisabetta, 28, told reporters that they have named their little princess Anna Astrid.

The royal couple appeared to be in good spirits as they smiled for the cameras before taking their newborn daughter home. The baby archduchess is seventh-in-line to the throne after her dad Amedeo. “It’s something new for us. We’re a little nervous but it’s fantastic,” said the beaming dad adding that a new life now began for him and his wife.

The sixth-in-line to the Belgian throne spoke to reporters outside the hospital about how much he was looking forward to raising their baby girl. He and Elisabetta posed with their baby, who was fast asleep in her mother’s arms. The newborn princess was wrapped up in a white baby blanket and dressed in a white cardigan with a matching hat.

A spokesman of the Royal Palace of Belgium said the little girl has been named after her grandmother Anna from her mom’s side, as well as Astrid after her paternal grandmother. The insider added that everyone in the family were very happy with the newest addition. The couple announced via the Belgian royal palace’s Facebook about the birth of their daughter on Tuesday.

The baby princess was born at 3:30 a.m. at the Saint-Pierre University Hospital in Brussels. According to the palace, the princess weighed 3.3kg and measured 52 centimetres. The palace also added that both the mother and baby were doing well.

Amedeo and his Italian wife Elisabetta married in July 2014, after seven years of dating. The couple tied the knot in front of their family including King Philippe, his wife Queen Mathilde, Amedeo’s Uncle and Aunt, their four children and friends. The ceremony was held at the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere, Rome.

Elisabetta, who is called Lili walked down the aisle in an ivory Valentino gown with intricate lace detail accompanied by her aristocratic father, Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein.
