At the moment, Sony now touts that the service has more than 500 titles for subscribers on the PlayStation 4 and PC. For subscribers, Sony also promises that more older PlayStation 4 titles will come to the service in the next year. Previously, the service had a catalog that exclusively drew from the PlayStation 3 and included titles like Batman: Arkham Origins .

Sony also offers several subscription options if you want to use PlayStation Now on your PlayStation 4 or Windows PC: the service runs $99.99 for a year or $19.99 per month. If you haven’t subscribed to the service yet, Sony offers the first month for a discounted rate of $9.99. The service is separate from Sony’s existing PlayStation Plus service, which provides online gaming and other membership benefits to users similarly to Xbox Live.

For Sony, the update adds an additional advantage to its PlayStation Now cloud service and puts it in line with the competition. Earlier this year, Microsoft launched its Game Pass subscription program, which features a rotating roster of Xbox 360 and Xbox One games for download. Xbox Live Gold subscribers have also long benefited from the company’s Games With Gold program, which provides a mix of free Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles to subscribers.

Traditionally, Sony has been hesitant to bring its major or recent titles to secondary distribution platforms. For instance, Microsoft has traditionally added a mix of major and indie titles to its Games With Gold offerings — June’s free games featured 2014’s Watch Dogs — while Sony has often drawn from indies or niche titles for its bonus selections. While it’s unlikely at best that recent current-generation PlayStation 4 titles will make it to PlayStation Now, the catalog update at least gives subscribers newer games to play.
