KEY POINTS

  • PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will not have a massive leap in terms of graphical prowess
  • Grimorio Games' Víctor Pedreño shares in a recent interview
  • Both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will arrive sometime this fall

Most gamers are expecting that the next generation gaming consoles Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will offer a major leap in terms of graphics prowess. But, the recent statement of a game developer would definitely disappoint them. Although both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 house impressive hardware inside that a lot of creators are thrilled about, they also would like to temper expectations when it comes to visuals.

The next-generation gaming consoles will do much to enhance the games that his studio develops, according to Grimorio of Games’ Víctor Pedreño speaking to GamingBolt. At three to four times the power of the current generation, gaming consoles will provide a nice boost to Grimorio Games’ titles. However, for developers like Grimorio Games, that is not going to change a lot, considering that we are fine with the current generation gaming consoles in developing out games, Pedreño shares.

Grimorio Games focuses on independent and smaller titles, so extra power, although nice, will not make any substantial differences. What the game developer is saying is that games from his studio will not get any kind of visual improvement from the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X hardware. The gaming studio’s titles have a very specific style, and no amount of power is going to affect those visuals.

But, even though Grimorio Games might not appreciate the benefit of the PS5 or Xbox Series X visually, other gaming studios will. The game developer also wants to mellow down gamers’ expectations since the leap of the next generation gaming consoles will unlikely be as substantial as it is in the past. Games are almost photorealistic, and the leaps are not going to be as glaring, reports Gamerant.

Both Microsoft and Sony will most likely agree with Pedreño since neither emphasized the visual prowess of the next generation gaming consoles. Load times and frame rates are two outstanding features of both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Recently, Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan said that there are major and unique features that Sony has yet to reveal about the PlayStation 5.

So, we will wait for the time that we finally see what the Sony boss is talking about about the PlayStation 5. Both next-generation gaming console is expected to arrive sometime this fall.
