A number of royals are not expected to attend Lady Gabriella Windsor’s royal wedding.

The palace has already announced the first royal wedding this year. Lady Gabriella is set to tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend financier Thomas Kingston this spring. However, her big day might not be as grand as the Duchess of Cambridge’s, Duchess of Sussex’s, or Princess Eugenie’s because the senior royals might not be able to witness it.

Royal commentator Robert Jobson told Express.co.uk that the Queen will not be returning to St. George’s Chapel this spring where Lady Gabriella’s wedding will be held. He added that most of the senior royal would likely turn out, but Queen Elizabeth II is unlikely to attend because “it may be a bit distant.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might not make it to the event, as well. According to Latifa Yedroudj, a journalist for Express, Prince William, Middleton, Prince Harry and Markle could skip Lady Gabriella’s wedding, too. Richard Fitzwilliams cited the royals’ absence in her brother’s wedding.

“Senior members of the royal family were absent from the marriage of her brother Lord Frederick Windsor to the actress Sophie Winkelman in 2009,” the royal commentator told the publication. “There will be speculation as to which senior royals will attend this.”

Lady Gabriella’s big day is deemed to be a low-profile occasion. According to Town & Country, there will be no carriage processions or members of the public invited into the grounds of the castle. However, Fitzwilliams is confident that it will still gain public interest.

“It’s a relatively low-profile occasion as royal weddings go but given the insatiable appetite for royal news, there was more buzz around Eugenie’s wedding than expected, there will undoubtedly be interest in it,” he added.

As for the wedding guests, since the bride is related to the Queen, some members of the royal family might attend. Also, Middleton’s sister, Pippa, might be invited. Pippa and the groom were an item and broke up on good terms. Lady Gabriella and Kingston attended Pippa’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017, so they might return the same favor to her.

Lady Gabriella previously dated Aatish Taseer in 2000. The latter revealed last year that for three years they hung about Kensington Palace, swam naked in the Queen’s pool at Buckingham Palace, did MDMA in Windsor Castle and had scrapes with the British press. He also called the mom of his ex-girlfriend, Princess Michael, a racist.
