Queen Elizabeth II reportedly had some grave concerns about Kate Middleton before she married Prince William.

According to Katie Nicholl, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had been dating for five years, the monarch found Middleton’s “frivolous displays of wealth unpalatable.” She had no full-time work and was always partying, which caused “grave concerns” for the Queen.

At the time, Middleton lived in the lavish London neighborhood of Chelsea with sister Pippa. She was only working part-time for her parents’ company Party Pieces and was frequently out partying on holidays with Prince William.

They were always vacationing on Mustique to the point that the press dubbed Middleton as the “Queen of Mustique.”

The Queen wasn’t happy about Middleton lifestyle at the time and even found it problematic because Britain’s economy was struggling yet she wasn’t concerned about it. Middleton continued her happy-go-lucky lifestyle.

Her Majesty was among the hardest working royals. Despite her age, she still took a lot of royal engagements and Middleton’s lifestyle didn’t just fit in. Middleton eventually got involved in charities due to the Queen’s nudging. However, it seemed that Middleton’s effort wasn’t enough because in 2018 she was named as the “least hard-working” royal.

Also, a lot of netizens noticed Middleton’s lack of improvement in terms of getting involved in the royal fold. A number of royal fans were disappointed that after eight years, Middleton seemed to be stuck on year one with the royals.

“I have been saying for the longest time that Kate is not a the level I would expect her to be at after 8 yrs in the Royal family. She is forever stuck at year 1!!!!!” Sasha wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, another netizen described Middleton as the “duchess do little.” A number of them were convinced that she was very behind compared to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle who was already involved in four charities and was able to release a project, "Together: Our Community" cookbook, just months after her royal wedding to Prince Harry.

A number also accused of Middleton’s lack of interest in charity. A different netizen said that she didn’t care and still doesn’t.
