Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the members of the Firm may be concerned over what will happen when Prince Charles takes over the throne.

Netflix's documentary "The Royal House of Windsor" has claimed that the royal family feared that the Prince of Wales had developed a "playboy prince image." They are concerned that Prince Charles might make the same mistake that King Edward VIII did when he abdicated the throne to pursue his relationship with Wallis Simpson.

"There was always an anxiety that Charles would go the way that his Uncle, the previous Prince of Wales, had done," Sarah Gristwood said (as quoted via Express). "Because the Duke of Windsor had acted with such rebellion, and had done what the rest of the family thought was an appalling mistake – a total dereliction of duty – everyone was determined that no future royal would make that mistake."

Prince Charles outgrew his playboy prince reputation when his beloved uncle Lord Luis Mountbatten was brutally murdered in a terrorist attack claimed by Irish Republican Army (IRA). Also, Queen Mother took on the mantle to train the Prince of Wales to prioritize duty to the crown all the time before everything else.

In related news, several writers claim that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are not confident with their son's leadership skills. In fact, Tom Bower wrote in his explosive biography "The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles" that the Duke of Edinburgh and monarch wanted to live long to keep Prince Charles from the throne. In this way, the Prince of Wales will "have little opportunity to damage the monarchy."

In Graham Turner's semi-authorized biography of Prince Philip, the author also shared how the 97-year-old apparently criticized his son's capacity as a leader. Prince Philip reportedly finds Prince Charles to be "precious, extravagant and lacking in the dedication...to make a good king."

Prince Philip also actively objects Prince Charles' plan for the monarchy. He is reportedly "scathing over" the Prince of Wales' intention to modernize the monarchy,

"Philip has fulminated against Charles's vision of a slimmed-down Royal Family which he wants to eventually be independent of taxpayers' support, and has called his son 'wilful and petulant,'" Adam Helliker wrote. "He has been particularly scathing over Charles's plan - which he is said to intend to implement early in his reign - to turn Buckingham Palace into a space for the nation, while he relocates the sovereign's base to Windsor Castle," he added.
