Royal Bank of Scotland board member Mark Fisher is nominated to replace ABN AMRO's outgoing Chief Executive, Rijkman Groenink, after the 70 billion euro ($99 billion) takeover of the Dutch bank.

The supervisory board will continue to be chaired by Arthur Martinez, ABN AMRO said on Thursday in a joint statement with the RBS-led consortium that is taking over ABN AMRO.

Nominated to join the supervisory board are Jean-Paul Votron, Chief Executive of Fortis, Fred Goodwin, Chief Executive of RBS, and Juan Inciarte, General Manager of Santander, the banks said.

Groenink had announced his resignation as chairman of ABN's managing board on Wednesday.
