Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), author of the controversial SOPA congressional bill, said Friday he would move to strike the ISP-blocking powers from the proposed law. Google Search Could be Altered With Influx of New Domain Names

Google has already begun including Google+ content in its search results, but new domain names like .Apple and .Samsung are soon to arrive, and it could again alter search results. Until April 12, companies will be allowed to submit their chosen domain name suffix to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, and they begin using their new dot company (.company) or dot business (.business) address for their Web sites.

Corning announced their new all-purpose scratch resistant glass for mobile devices, Gorilla Glass 2. It's thinner and lighter than the original, so by the end of the year we could have some lighter and thinner devices. Corning said Gorilla Glass 2 is 20% stronger and 20% thinner than the original, and Corning even set up an experiment at the Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 9 to show how tough it was.

Comcast is rolling out a new feature for their Xfinity iPad App, and it will use an additional piece of hardware on your home router to stream your cable stations right to your tablet. Comcast made the announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 10, and said they would be adding a similar feature to the Motorola Xoom in the near future.
