Robert Pattinson recently sparked controversy when he talked about a sensitive scene from his film, “Good Time.”

On Thursday, Pattinson appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and mentioned a scene in “Good Time” where the director asked him to do a sex act on the dog. The actor was asked to massage the dog’s genitalia, but he said he couldn’t do it so they just made a fake one, E! News reported.

Host Jimmy Kimmel joked about the scene after hearing Pattinson’s anecdote. “You made a fake dog penis?” the host said. “Wow, Hollywood is a great place. It really is.” However, not everyone was in a joking mood after hearing his story, and some took to social media to aim negative criticism at Pattinson for joking about the sensitive and graphic scene.

In a recent interview, Pattinson addressed the controversy and explained that he meant no harm when he shared the story on the show. “The story I told on Jimmy Kimmel last night seems to have spiraled out of control,” the “Twilight” star told E! News.

The “Remember Me” star also defended the cast and crew of the upcoming drama film. According to him, everyone on set had been professional while shooting the scene and was working together to make a film that he is very proud of. “What didn’t come across is that this was supposed to be a joke. No one at all expected or assumed that anything like that would happen on the ‘Good Time’ set. We are all huge animal lovers and would obviously never do anything to harm an animal,” he explained.

“I feel embarrassed that in the moment, I was trying to make Jimmy laugh, only to create confusion and a false impression,” Pattinson added.

Meanwhile, PETA was proud of Pattinson for refusing to masturbate the dog, an act which they likened to child molestation. In a statement released to E! News, the organization announced that they are doing an investigation on the incident to check if any violations were committed.

In other news, Pattinson recently implied that he could have played the lead role in the “Fifty Shades” franchise if not for a drunken meeting with E.L. James. “I know the writer of the book, and before any of that happened, I had met her in Chateau Marmont,” Pattinson told The Sun. “Her friend told me, ‘That is E L James, she wrote ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’ I was a little bit drunk and I literally kept forcing her to tell me every one of her fantasies and it was fun. I was absolutely terrified.”
