KEY POINTS

  • Prince Andrew's sexual abuse scandal continues.
  • The royal family could be shaken up by Ghislaine Maxwell's interview.
  • The royal family could face an absolute tinder box soon.

Prince Andrew was recently forced to resign from his public duties due to the backlash that he received after giving an interview.

While speaking with BBC’s Emily Maitlis, the Duke of York discussed his friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein. He also denied the allegations that he slept with underage girls years ago.

But during his interview on “Lorraine,” royal expert Russell Myers said that the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and the royal family won’t end just because the dad of two resigned.

In fact, the British clan could soon face an absolute tinderbox if and when Epstein’s former partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, agrees to share details regarding her ex and Prince Andrew’s friendship.

“As I understand it, there is a bidding war going on for her story – another interview. The palace must be quaking in their boots because not only Prince Andrew’s given that awful interview but then you add another one to the mix… If she actually goes forward and does an interview before she’s potentially spoken to the FBI – this could open an absolute tinderbox. Let’s see what happens,” he said.

During his interview, Prince Andrew confirmed that he was friends with Maxwell. He also said that it wouldn’t have been possible for him to avoid Epstein because they were linked together by Maxwell.

The daughter of publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell has not been seen or heard of since August. And as of late, it is still unclear whether or not she will really give an interview.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew also made headlines this week amid rumors that his daughter Princess Beatrice’s wedding has been postponed due to his scandal. But according to Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth just signed off on her granddaughter’s wedding date.

The publication said that the royal family is still hush-hush over the wedding date and venue because they are still waiting for the General Election to be over. Afterward, the public will know when Princess Beatrice will tie the knot.
