Meghan Markle gave birth to her son with husband Prince Harry on Monday without any drama, but earlier this year, it was reported that another royal was possibly trying to upstage their child’s arrival.

It was speculated by Express that Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston would “upstage” Prince Harry and Meghan with their spring 2019 wedding. The report stemmed not from the couple choosing the same location, St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the very place where Meghan and Prince Harry got married last year, but the wedding date.

It was initially reported that Lady Gabriella and Kingston would wed in the springtime, the same season Harry and Meghan were due to welcome their first child.

“There is the chance Lady Gabriella decided to hold her wedding around the due date to prevent the attention being drawn away from her on her big day,” Express wrote at the time.

“Meghan has proven a very popular member of the Royal Family since she became the Duchess of Sussex. She attracts a huge crowd wherever she goes and is photographed every time she makes even the briefest appearance in public. If she were to attend the wedding, she’d likely be just about to pop and her presence could take some attention off the bride.”

Of course, the wedding did not "upstage" the arrival of the Prince Harry and Meghan’s child. Their baby boy was delivered in the early moring hours on May 6. At press time, his name had not been released.

Meanwhile, Lady Windsor and Kingston are due to wed on May 18. Buckingham Palace has confirmed Queen Elizabeth II will attend, along with other “members of the royal family,” meaning Markle could make an appearance.
