  • An actress from "Resident Evil 2" possibly teased that a new game in the franchise is in the works
  • Capcom has been recently rumored to be working on "Resident Evil 8"
  • A "Resident Evil 4" remake is also a possibility, according to recent leaks

“Resident Evil 3 Remake” was just released early this April, but rumors about what’s next in the game continue to surface.

The latest in the long list of “Resident Evil” rumors, however, came from a reliable source. Stephanie Panisello, who played as Claire Redfield starting from the remake of “Resident Evil 2,” accidentally teased an upcoming project which could be related to the franchise.

In a “Resident Evil” podcast which brought together various performers from the series, Panisello greeted the cast of “Resident Evil 3 Remake” before saying that she might have worked with one of them for a yet unannounced game.

“Also, Resident Evil 3 cast, hello! I know I didn’t know you guys personally, although I do feel like I’ve worked with one of you, but I think it’s a project that hasn’t come out yet, so I won’t say anything,” Panisello said in the podcast, per Rely on Horror.

While the Claire Redfield actress didn’t name the project, it still quickly sparked already talks that it is related to the “Resident Evil” franchise. After all, they are in the podcast to discuss their experience working in the series.

Of course it could also be a different game not related to the popular survival horror video game. However, it is worth noting that there have already been several rumors about two “Resident Evil” games coming in 2021 and 2022.

However, some fans assume that it could be related to the rumored “Resident Evil 8,” which is said to be scheduled for release in 2021.

Capcom is also rumored to be working on a “Resident Evil 4” remake for a 2022 launch. Nonetheless, it wouldn’t make sense for Panisello to be included in the alleged project since the character of Claire Redfield is not in the said iteration.

It remains to be seen what Capcom really has in store for fans of the game, though it is definitely looking more and more likely that a new “Resident Evil” game is coming. While waiting for the next leak, fans can enjoy “Resident Evil 3 Remake” on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Windows).
