Sarah Ferguson blames herself for her strained relationship with Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh and Duchess of York are reportedly still uncomfortable around each other. The 97-year-old royal has apparently still not forgiven Ferguson for her toegate scandal that resulted to her divorce from Prince Andrew. However, it seems things may be changing for the better as they were amicable with each other during Princess Eugenie's royal wedding.

In an interview with Dr. Phil about her book "Finding Sarah" in 2011, Ferguson took the blame and described her behavior as "idiotic." "For such a smart woman, why does she behave in such an idiotic way?" Ferguson said after she was involved in a string of controversies (via Daily Star). "I can't get over the stupidity of me. I'm not a stupid woman. I eff it up all the time."

Dr. Phil agreed with Ferguson's confession and said that her behavior is "emotional rather than intellectual." "You're addicted to approval and acceptance, and you’ll do anything to get it, including putting yourself in harm’s way," he said.

In a recent interview following Princess Eugenie's wedding, which both Prince Philip and Ferguson attended, the latter admitted that she was happy about their reunion. According to her, she was pleased to see them both in Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's official royal wedding photos.

"I have huge respect for him and always admired him. It was a lovely photograph of us all together," Ferguson said about their reunion. "It was very good to be with him again. My father and he used to play polo together. It brought back memories of that."

Royal experts blamed Ferguson for the royals' cold treatment of her. Ferguson was famously photographed with her financial advisor in a bikini where he appeared to be sucking her toes.

"Okay you don't expect somebody to crawl through the bushes to take photographs of you topless while your financial advisor is sucking your toes," Dickie Arbiter said in the documentary "The Royal Wives of Windsor." "You don't expect that but by the same token you don't go away with somebody that isn't your husband and sunbathe topless."
